๐Ÿ”ต CORE FOUNDATION

๐Ÿ”น Theme Overview

This week, both Adult and YAYA classes explore the concept of Workplace Ministry, also known as Marketplace Ministry. The lesson teaches that our daily work is not merely a professional responsibility but also an opportunity to serve God and influence others for His kingdom.

Believers spend a significant portion of their lives in workplaces such as business, government, education, healthcare, and other sectors. Therefore, God expects His people to represent Him faithfully in those environments.

This lesson highlights:

  • the meaning and purpose of workplace ministry

  • the workplace as a mission field

  • how believers can influence others through their work

  • the principles for effective ministry in professional environments

๐Ÿง  Workplace ministry is about serving God faithfully through everyday work and relationships.

Godโ€™s design for workplace ministry is built on:

  • faithfulness in daily responsibilities

  • Christlike influence among colleagues

  • integrity and excellence

  • intentional witness for the Gospel

๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œYour workplace is not just where you earn a livingโ€”it is where you represent Christ.โ€

๐Ÿง  MEMORY VERSES

Adult:

๐Ÿ“– Colossians 3:23 (KJV)

โ€œAnd whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.โ€

YAYA:

๐Ÿ“– Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)

โ€œAnd whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men."

This verse reminds believers that work itself can become an act of worship when done for Godโ€™s glory.

๐Ÿ“– KEY SCRIPTURES

Adult & YAYA Bible Passage:

๐Ÿ“– Acts 9:36โ€“40

This passage records the story of Tabitha (Dorcas), a woman in Joppa who used her skills and resources to serve others.

This story shows that God values acts of service performed through everyday work.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Faith expressed through service can transform lives and communities.

๐ŸŸฆ SECTION 1: FOUNDATIONAL TEXT REVIEW

๐Ÿ“– Acts 9:36โ€“40 โ€” Dorcas: A Life of Service

In this passage, Tabitha (Dorcas) demonstrates how work and ministry can be integrated.

From the passage we learn:

  • Tabitha (Dorcas) was a disciple who was full of good works and charitable deeds (v36)

  • When she became sick and died, believers washed her body and laid her in an upper room (v37)

  • The disciples sent for Peter from Lydda because they believed God could intervene (v38)

  • Widows showed Peter the garments Dorcas had made for them as evidence of her service (v39)

  • Peter prayed and Dorcas was raised from the dead (v40)

This passage shows that faithful service to others can become a powerful testimony of Godโ€™s love.

๐Ÿ”Ž Reflection: How can the work you do every day become an opportunity to serve God and help others?

๐ŸŸฆ SECTION 2: THE WORKPLACE AS A MISSION FIELD

Workplace ministry begins with understanding that God is present in every aspect of our lives, including our professional environments.

๐Ÿ”ฅA. Godโ€™s Presence in the Workplace

Godโ€™s presence accompanies believers wherever they go.

๐Ÿ“– Psalm 139:7โ€“10

Because God is with us everywhere, we can rely on His guidance as we face challenges and opportunities at work.

1๏ธโƒฃ Work as Worship

  • Our jobs are more than a source of incomeโ€”they are opportunities to serve God.

    ๐Ÿ“– Ephesians 6:5โ€“8

  • When we view work as worship, even ordinary tasks become spiritually meaningful.

    ๐Ÿ“– Daniel 11:32b

Excellence and integrity reflect Godโ€™s character in our workplace.

2๏ธโƒฃ The Workplace as a Mission Field

  • Believers are called to make disciples everywhere, including at work.

    ๐Ÿ“– Matthew 28:18โ€“20

  • As Christโ€™s ambassadors, we represent Him to colleagues and clients.

    ๐Ÿ“– 2 Corinthians 5:20

Workplace ministry involves living out the Gospel with authenticity and intentionality.

3๏ธโƒฃ Influencing Others Through Wisdom

  • Integrating faith and work requires wisdom.

    ๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 3:13

  • Faith should guide both our spiritual lives and professional decisions.

  • Workplace ministry can influence lives by addressing spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.

  • Jesus calls believers to influence others with compassion and hope.

    ๐Ÿ“– Matthew 5:13โ€“16

  • The early church demonstrated this through love, unity, and shared resources.

    ๐Ÿ“– Acts 2:42โ€“47

๐ŸŸจ SECTION 3: THE PRINCIPLES

To minister effectively in the workplace, believers must demonstrate intentional Christlike behavior.

๐Ÿ“˜ A. Alignment

Believers should set goals that align with Godโ€™s priorities.

๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 16:3

Alignment begins by surrendering our plans to God and allowing Him to guide our work toward eternal impact.

๐Ÿ“˜ B. Intentionality

Sharing the Gospel requires purposeful actions.

๐Ÿ“– 1 Peter 3:15

Intentional living allows believers to reflect Godโ€™s love naturally in everyday conversations and actions.

๐Ÿ“˜ C. Connection

Building meaningful relationships creates opportunities for influence.

๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 27:9โ€“10

Trust, encouragement, and support open doors to share authentic faith.

๐Ÿ“˜ D. Integrity

Honesty, fairness, and transparency reflect Christโ€™s character.

๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 10:9
๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 28:18

Integrity strengthens credibility and demonstrates genuine Christian character.

๐Ÿ“˜ E. Guidance

Believers should seek Godโ€™s wisdom through prayer and Scripture.

๐Ÿ“– Psalm 119:105

Wise counsel also helps believers make decisions that align with Godโ€™s will.

๐Ÿ“– Proverbs 11:14

๐ŸŸฉ SECTION 4: CONNECT THE DOTS

Work is not separate from ministry.

Believers must recognize that:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Your workplace is your mission field

๐Ÿ‘‰ Your actions represent Christ

๐Ÿ‘‰ Your relationships create opportunities for ministry

๐Ÿ‘‰ Your integrity reflects your faith

In many cases, the people you work with may be the only Bible they ever read.

๐ŸŸง SECTION 5: HEART TRANSFORMATION

Living out workplace ministry requires spiritual intentionality.

A believer must:

  • work with excellence

  • demonstrate Christlike character

  • serve others with compassion

  • represent Christ faithfully

๐Ÿ”Ž Ask Yourself:

  • Do I see my workplace as a mission field?

  • Do my colleagues see Christ in my behavior?

  • Do I work with integrity and excellence?

  • Am I intentional about influencing others for Christ?

If God governs my work life:

  • I serve faithfully

  • I work with integrity

  • I influence others positively

  • I glorify God through my profession
