LESSON 11 โ WORKPLACE MINISTRY
๐ 16th November, 2025
Bible Text (Adult & YAYA): Acts 9:36โ40
๐ง Memory Verse (Adult): Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
๐ง Memory Verse (YAYA): Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)
๐น Theme Overview
This week, both Adult and YAYA classes explore the concept of Workplace Ministry, also known as Marketplace Ministry. The lesson teaches that our daily work is not merely a professional responsibility but also an opportunity to serve God and influence others for His kingdom.
Believers spend a significant portion of their lives in workplaces such as business, government, education, healthcare, and other sectors. Therefore, God expects His people to represent Him faithfully in those environments.
This lesson highlights:
the meaning and purpose of workplace ministry
the workplace as a mission field
how believers can influence others through their work
the principles for effective ministry in professional environments
๐ง Workplace ministry is about serving God faithfully through everyday work and relationships.
Godโs design for workplace ministry is built on:
faithfulness in daily responsibilities
Christlike influence among colleagues
integrity and excellence
intentional witness for the Gospel
๐ โYour workplace is not just where you earn a livingโit is where you represent Christ.โ
Adult:
๐ Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
โAnd whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.โ
YAYA:
๐ Colossians 3:23 (NKJV)
โAnd whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men."
This verse reminds believers that work itself can become an act of worship when done for Godโs glory.
Adult & YAYA Bible Passage:
๐ Acts 9:36โ40
This passage records the story of Tabitha (Dorcas), a woman in Joppa who used her skills and resources to serve others.
This story shows that God values acts of service performed through everyday work.

๐ Faith expressed through service can transform lives and communities.
๐ Acts 9:36โ40 โ Dorcas: A Life of Service
In this passage, Tabitha (Dorcas) demonstrates how work and ministry can be integrated.
From the passage we learn:
Tabitha (Dorcas) was a disciple who was full of good works and charitable deeds (v36)
When she became sick and died, believers washed her body and laid her in an upper room (v37)
The disciples sent for Peter from Lydda because they believed God could intervene (v38)
Widows showed Peter the garments Dorcas had made for them as evidence of her service (v39)
Peter prayed and Dorcas was raised from the dead (v40)
This passage shows that faithful service to others can become a powerful testimony of Godโs love.
๐ Reflection: How can the work you do every day become an opportunity to serve God and help others?
Workplace ministry begins with understanding that God is present in every aspect of our lives, including our professional environments.
๐ฅA. Godโs Presence in the Workplace
Godโs presence accompanies believers wherever they go.
๐ Psalm 139:7โ10
Because God is with us everywhere, we can rely on His guidance as we face challenges and opportunities at work.
1๏ธโฃ Work as Worship
Our jobs are more than a source of incomeโthey are opportunities to serve God.
๐ Ephesians 6:5โ8
When we view work as worship, even ordinary tasks become spiritually meaningful.
๐ Daniel 11:32b
Excellence and integrity reflect Godโs character in our workplace.
2๏ธโฃ The Workplace as a Mission Field
Believers are called to make disciples everywhere, including at work.
๐ Matthew 28:18โ20
As Christโs ambassadors, we represent Him to colleagues and clients.
๐ 2 Corinthians 5:20
Workplace ministry involves living out the Gospel with authenticity and intentionality.
3๏ธโฃ Influencing Others Through Wisdom
Integrating faith and work requires wisdom.
๐ Proverbs 3:13
Faith should guide both our spiritual lives and professional decisions.
Workplace ministry can influence lives by addressing spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.
Jesus calls believers to influence others with compassion and hope.
๐ Matthew 5:13โ16
The early church demonstrated this through love, unity, and shared resources.
๐ Acts 2:42โ47
To minister effectively in the workplace, believers must demonstrate intentional Christlike behavior.
๐ A. Alignment
Believers should set goals that align with Godโs priorities.
๐ Proverbs 16:3
Alignment begins by surrendering our plans to God and allowing Him to guide our work toward eternal impact.
๐ B. Intentionality
Sharing the Gospel requires purposeful actions.
๐ 1 Peter 3:15
Intentional living allows believers to reflect Godโs love naturally in everyday conversations and actions.
๐ C. Connection
Building meaningful relationships creates opportunities for influence.
๐ Proverbs 27:9โ10
Trust, encouragement, and support open doors to share authentic faith.
๐ D. Integrity
Honesty, fairness, and transparency reflect Christโs character.
๐ Proverbs 10:9
๐ Proverbs 28:18
Integrity strengthens credibility and demonstrates genuine Christian character.
๐ E. Guidance
Believers should seek Godโs wisdom through prayer and Scripture.
๐ Psalm 119:105
Wise counsel also helps believers make decisions that align with Godโs will.
๐ Proverbs 11:14
Work is not separate from ministry.
Believers must recognize that:
๐ Your workplace is your mission field
๐ Your actions represent Christ
๐ Your relationships create opportunities for ministry
๐ Your integrity reflects your faith
In many cases, the people you work with may be the only Bible they ever read.
Living out workplace ministry requires spiritual intentionality.
A believer must:
work with excellence
demonstrate Christlike character
serve others with compassion
represent Christ faithfully
๐ Ask Yourself:
Do I see my workplace as a mission field?
Do my colleagues see Christ in my behavior?
Do I work with integrity and excellence?
Am I intentional about influencing others for Christ?
If God governs my work life:
I serve faithfully
I work with integrity
I influence others positively
I glorify God through my profession
