🔵 CORE FOUNDATION

🔹 Theme Overview

This week’s lessons explore two powerful dimensions of the believer’s walk with God: understanding grace in relation to the law and exercising spiritual dominion through prayer.

The Adult lesson (Law and Grace) explains the purpose of the law, its limitations, and the power of grace through Jesus Christ to enable righteous living.

The YAYA lesson (Dominion Through Prayers) teaches that prayer is a powerful tool through which believers exercise spiritual authority, overcome challenges, and enforce God’s will on earth.

Together, these lessons reveal an important truth:

👉 Believers live victoriously by the grace of Christ and exercise dominion through prayer.

When believers understand these truths, they will:

  • appreciate the purpose of God’s law

  • depend on grace for righteous living

  • pray with authority and faith

  • walk in spiritual victory over situations

🧠 Grace empowers holy living, and prayer enforces spiritual dominion.

🧠 MEMORY VERSES

🟦 SECTION 1: FOUNDATIONAL TEXT REVIEW

Adult Bible Passage:

📖 Romans 8:2–4 — Freedom Through Grace

This passage explains the superiority of life in Christ over the bondage of sin.

From the passage we learn:

  • The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus makes believers free from the law of sin and death (v2)

  • The law was unable to save because it was weak through the flesh (v3)

  • God sent His Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and condemned sin in the flesh (v3)

🟦 SECTION 2: ADULT FOCUS

LAW AND GRACE

The law refers to the commandments and standards God gave through Moses, while grace refers to the truth and power made available through Jesus Christ. The law defines sin, but grace empowers believers to live above sin.

🔥A. The Nature of the Law

1️⃣ God gave laws and commandments written on tablets of stone to the Israelites.
📖 Exodus 24:12

2️⃣ The law included statutes, judgments, testimonies, and the Laws of Moses to hold the Israelites accountable.
📖 1 Kings 2:3
📖 Matthew 19:7–8

3️⃣ Jesus summarized the whole law into loving God and loving your neighbour.
📖 Matthew 22:36–40

4️⃣ God’s commandments are not grievous, but the sinful nature of man made obedience difficult.
📖 1 John 5:3

5️⃣ The law is not evil; it reveals the condition of the human heart and defines sin.
📖 Romans 7:7

6️⃣ The law exposes man’s inability to obey God’s commandments perfectly.
📖 Romans 7:14–16

7️⃣ Though the law is holy, just, and good, it is weak because it cannot change the sinful heart.
📖 Romans 7:12
📖 Romans 8:3
📖 Acts 13:39

8️⃣ Believers must not replace God’s commandment with human tradition.
📖 Mark 7:7–9

👉 The law reveals God’s standard but cannot, by itself, transform the sinner.

🔥 B. The Place of Grace

1️⃣ God is full of grace.
📖 Joel 2:13

2️⃣ People have always found grace and salvation by faith in God.
📖 Genesis 19:18–19

3️⃣ God did not change between the Old and New Testaments.
📖 Malachi 3:6a

4️⃣ The same God who gave the law through Moses also gave grace through Jesus Christ.
📖 John 1:17

5️⃣ Jesus was born under the law and became the final sacrifice to fulfil the law and establish the New Covenant.
📖 Galatians 4:4–5
📖 Matthew 5:17
📖 Luke 22:20

6️⃣ There is no conflict between grace and the law when rightly understood; Christ fulfilled the law on our behalf.
📖 Romans 8:1–4

7️⃣ Christians are under grace through Christ, not under the Old Testament law and its penalty.
📖 Romans 6:14
📖 Galatians 3:10–14
📖 Galatians 3:22–28

8️⃣ God’s commandments remain sacred, and to obey Him is to love Him.
📖 1 John 5:3

9️⃣ By grace, believers can do what is pleasing and acceptable to God.
📖 Ephesians 2:7–10

🔟 Genuine believers should not habitually and deliberately practice sin.
📖 1 John 3:8–9

👉 Grace does not cancel holiness; it empowers it.

🟨 SECTION 3: YAYA FOCUS

DOMINION THROUGH PRAYERS

Prayer is a powerful tool through which believers exercise spiritual authority and establish dominion. Dominion was God’s original intention for mankind, and prayer gives believers access to divine strategies, power, and intervention.

📘 A. Biblical Examples

Some biblical examples of people who gained dominion through prayers include:

1️⃣ Jacob — His persistent prayer and wrestling brought transformation in identity and divine favour.
📖 Genesis 32:24–28

2️⃣ Daniel — His commitment to prayer brought dominion in a hostile environment and divine deliverance from lions.
📖 Daniel 6:10–23

3️⃣ Elijah — His fervent prayers brought fire from heaven and national repentance, proving that the prayers of the righteous are effective.
📖 1 Kings 18:35–39
📖 James 5:16–18

4️⃣ Hannah — Her heartfelt prayers resulted in the miraculous birth of Samuel and dominion over her situation.
📖 1 Samuel 1:10–20

5️⃣ Jesus — His prayer in Gethsemane aligned His will with God’s and gave Him strength for victory over sin and death.
📖 Luke 22:39–44

👑 B. The How

Key principles for effective prayer and dominion through prayer include:

1️⃣ Pray with Faith — Approach God with confidence and trust in His ability to answer.
📖 Mark 11:24

2️⃣ Pray According to God’s Will — Effective prayer aligns with God’s word and the Spirit’s guidance.
📖 1 John 5:14–15

3️⃣ Pray Persistently — Persistence in prayer demonstrates faith and dependence on God.
📖 Luke 18:1–8

4️⃣ Pray in the Spirit — Praying in the Holy Ghost strengthens communication with God beyond human ability.
📖 Ephesians 6:18
📖 Romans 8:26–27

5️⃣ Live Righteously — A righteous lifestyle enhances the effectiveness of prayer, while sin hinders it.
📖 Psalm 66:18
📖 James 5:16

6️⃣ Incorporate Thanksgiving — Gratitude and worship magnify God’s power and keep our focus on Him.
📖 Philippians 4:6

👉Dominion through prayer is not accidental; it follows spiritual principles.

🟩 SECTION 4: CONNECT THE DOTS

How Both Classes Connect

Adult Class → Grace through Christ enables righteous living
YAYA Class → Prayer through faith enforces victory and dominion

Together they reveal:

👉 Believers need both grace and prayer to live victoriously

The law reveals the need for grace.

Grace empowers obedience.

Prayer enforces dominion.

A grace-filled life should be a prayerful life.

🟧 SECTION 5: HEART TRANSFORMATION

Living in Grace and Dominion

God desires believers to live free from the bondage of sin and strong in prayer.

📖 Romans 8:1–4
📖 Matthew 18:18

A healthy spiritual life requires:

  • dependence on grace

  • obedience to God

  • persistent prayer

  • faith in God’s power

🔎 Ask Yourself:

  • Am I relying on grace or trying to please God by mere effort?

  • Do I understand the purpose of God’s law?

  • Am I praying with faith and persistence?

  • Do I live in a way that supports effective prayer?

A believer who understands grace and dominion will:

  • walk in freedom from condemnation

  • resist sin through Christ

  • pray with spiritual authority

  • experience victory in life
