📖 Luke 11:33–36 — The Eye as the Light of the Body

Jesus teaches the spiritual significance of the eye.

From the passage we learn:

• A lamp is meant to give light when properly positioned (v33)

• The eye determines the condition of the whole body (v34a)

• If the eye is single (focused and pure), the whole body is full of light (v34b)

• If the eye is evil, the whole body becomes full of darkness (v34)

• Believers must take heed that the light in them is not darkness (v35)

• A life filled with light reflects complete spiritual illumination (v36)
