LESSON 30 – SEASONS OF LIFE & CRISIS MANAGEMENT
📅29th March 2026
📖 Adult Bible Text: Ecclesiastes 3:1–8
📖 YAYA Bible Text: Nehemiah 4:6–9, 16–18
🧠 Adult Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV)
🧠 YAYA Memory Verse: Psalm 46:1 (NKJV)
🔹 Theme Overview
This week, both Adult and YAYA classes explore an important truth about the Christian journey:
Life unfolds in seasons, and crises are inevitable.
Adult Class focuses on: Seasons of Life
YAYA Class focuses on: Crisis Management
One lesson teaches believers to understand the times and know what to do.
The other teaches believers how to respond rightly in painful seasons of loss.
Together, these lessons teach believers to understand that life is not static. There will be times of joy and sorrow, progress and stagnation, strength and weakness. Scripture reminds us that every phase of life has timing and purpose under heaven.
As believers, we must therefore learn to:
understand the changing seasons of life
trust God's sovereignty in every phase
manage crises wisely
respond to challenges with faith and courage
🧠 Spiritual maturity is not avoiding difficult seasons.
🧠 It is trusting God through them and responding with wisdom.
Adult:
Ecclesiastes 3:1(KJV)
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”
YAYA:
Psalm 46:1 (NKJV)
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Adult Bible Passage:
Ecclesiastes 3:1–8
YAYA Bible Passage:
Nehemiah 4:6–9, 16–18

👉 “Mature believers understand that both seasons and crises are God's training process.”
Adult Bible Passage:
📖 Ecclesiastes 3:1–8 – The Seasons of Life
The passage reminds us that life is filled with different seasons, each with its own timing and purpose.
There is:
a time to be born and a time to die (v2)
a time to plant and a time to harvest (v2)
a time to kill and a time to heal (v3)
a time to break down and a time to build up (v3)
a time to weep and a time to laugh (v4)
a time to mourn and a time to dance (v4)
a time for war and a time for peace (v5)
a time to keep and a time to cast away (v6)
a time to keep silence and a time to speak (v7)
These verses teach that life’s experiences are not random. God allows different seasons for growth, maturity, and divine purpose.
🔎 Reflection: How does understanding that life has seasons help believers face difficult situations with patience?
YAYA Bible Passage:
📖 Nehemiah 4:6–9, 16–18 – Responding to Crisis
From the passage, instead of giving up on the project, they responded wisely by:
praying to God (v9a)
setting a watch against the enemy (v9b)
continuing the work through collaboration despite opposition (v16)
remaining alert and prepared to ensure no disruption (v17)
involving God in the project and trusting Him for protection (v18)
Their response demonstrates that crises require both faith and practical action.
🔎 Reflection: What practical lessons can believers learn from Nehemiah’s response to crisis?
ADULT CLASS
YAYA CLASS
🔥 A. Understanding Times and Seasons
The Bible teaches that life moves through different seasons. These will continue to change for as long as the Lord keeps us alive to witness them.
📖 Genesis 8:22
🌱 B. God’s Role in Life’s Seasons
From the beginning of creation, God established balance and diversity in life.
For example:
light and darkness
day and night
male and female
These differences reveal that life is designed to function through contrast and change.
📖 Genesis 1:5, 27
Seasons make life meaningful and dynamic rather than monotonous.
🌍 B. Examples of Life’s Seasons
Believers may experience different seasons such as:
1️⃣ Season of Joy
Celebrations, breakthroughs, success, and promotion.
📖 Psalm 118:24
2️⃣ Season of Sorrow

seasons of strength and weakness
📖 1 Kings 19:1-3
seasons of answered prayers and waiting
📖 Job 14:14-15, 2 Corinthians 12:9
These remind us that change is a natural part of life.
👉 A believer who does not understand the times may misread opportunities, ignore warnings, and respond foolishly.
🧭 Responsing Wisely
Knowing that there are different seasons in life gives us hope that no matter what the current conditions are, there will always be a change.
Understanding this truth helps us avoid panic, despair, or careless decisions during difficult moments.
Mature believers respond wisely by:
1️⃣ Living consciously and purposefully:
We should not despair if the current season is not as bright
📖 2 Corinthians 4:8
Being hopeful that a new season is on its way
📖 Psalm 30:5
Trusting that the new season will usher in beauty for ashes, unspeakable joy and blessings

Staying engaged in kingdom priorities
📖 Matthew 6:33
✨ Key Insight
Understanding life’s seasons helps believers respond with wisdom rather than fear, positioning them to walk confidently in God’s purpose.
📘 A. Understanding Crisis
A crisis is a difficult or unstable situation that creates serious challenges.
📖 Job 14:1
Here is an inevitable fact of life; every person will eventually face crises such as:
Spiritual crisis in the form of unanswered prayers, doubts or false teachings challenge one's faith or sense of purpose

📖 1 Samuel 2:22-30; Genesis 27:32-41
Major life changes
Painful disappointments
These events may arise suddenly or develop gradually.
📘 B. Managing Crisis Wisely
Believers must learn to respond wisely when crises occur.
1️⃣ Prevent foreseeable crises
Wise people anticipate problems and take preventive action.
📖 Proverbs 27:12
2️⃣ Properly understand the crisis
Before reacting, it is important to understand the situation, its causes, and its implications.
📖 2 Kings 2:19–21
3️⃣ Pray and communicate
Prayer invites God’s wisdom, while communication helps others contribute to the solution.
📖 Esther 4:13–17
4️⃣ Take decisive action
Crises can become opportunities for believers to demonstrate wisdom and leadership.
📖 Genesis 41:33–41
5️⃣ Monitor and review progress
Effective crisis management involves evaluating actions and adjusting strategies when necessary.
📖 Nehemiah 4:19–23
✨ Key Truth
Crises do not define believers.
Our response to them reveals our faith and maturity.
How Both Classes Connect
Adult Class → Seasons of Life
YAYA Class → Crisis Management
Together they reveal:
👉 Life moves through different seasons
👉 Some seasons bring joy while others bring challenges
👉 Crises are often part of difficult seasons
👉 Believers must trust God and respond wisely
👉 Faith helps believers remain stable regardless of circumstances
A mature believer understands that both seasons and crises are part of God’s training process.
Leadership begins with personal spiritual maturity.
🔎 Ask Yourself:
Do I understand that life will move through different seasons?
How do I respond when I face a crisis?
Do I trust God even when circumstances change suddenly?
Am I spiritually prepared for both good and difficult seasons?
If God governs my heart:
I will trust God through every season and situation
I will pursue and grow in wisdom
I will develop patience
I will remain emotionally stable in crisis (stand firm and be immovable)
