LESSON 37 – THE BROKEN WINDOW THEORY / CHRISTIANITY & HOMOSEXUALITY (PART 1)
📅17th May 2026
📖 Adult Bible Text: 1 Corinthians 5:6–8
📖 YAYA Bible Text: Romans 1:21, 26–28
🧠 Adult Memory Verse: Romans 12:21 (KJV)
🧠 YAYA Memory Verse: Leviticus 18:22 (NKJV)
🔹 Theme Overview
This week’s lessons address two critical realities in the believer’s life: the danger of ignoring small compromises and the importance of understanding God’s standard on moral issues.
The Adult lesson (The Broken Window Theory) teaches that small, unchecked issues can grow into major problems if not addressed early.
The YAYA lesson (Christianity and Homosexuality Part 1) explains the biblical perspective on homosexuality and calls believers to align with God’s truth.
Together, these lessons reveal a powerful truth:
👉 What is ignored today can become destructive tomorrow—spiritually, morally, and relationally.
When believers apply these principles, they will:
develop spiritual sensitivity to small compromises
maintain purity and discipline in their lives
uphold God’s truth in a changing world
avoid gradual moral and spiritual decline
🧠 Spiritual vigilance and obedience to God’s Word are essential for a life that honours God.
Adult:
Romans 12:21 (KJV)
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good”
YAYA:
Leviticus 18:22 (NKJV)
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination”
Adult Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 5:6-8
YAYA Bible Passage: Romans 1:21. 26-28

👉 Believers must deal with sin early and align their lives with God’s truth.
Adult Bible Passage:
📖 1 Corinthians 5:6–8
This passage warns believers about the danger of allowing small sin to remain unchecked.
From the passage we learn:
A little sin can spread and affect the whole life (v6)
Believers must purge out old sinful habits (v7)
We are called to live with sincerity and truth (v8)
Malice and wickedness must be removed immediately (v8)
👉 Small compromises, if ignored, can corrupt the entire life.
🔎 Reflection: What “small issues” might be quietly affecting your spiritual life?
YAYA Bible Passage:
📖Romans 1:21, 26–28
This passage explains the consequences of rejecting God’s truth.
From the passage we learn:
People knew God but refused to honour Him (v21)
Their thinking became futile and darkened (v21)
God gave them over to sinful desires (v26)
Natural relationships were exchanged for unnatural ones (v26–27)
Persistent rejection of God leads to a reprobate mind (v28)
👉 Rejecting God’s truth leads to moral and spiritual decline.
🔎 Reflection:
How does rejecting truth gradually affect a person’s thinking and lifestyle?
