🔹 Theme Overview
This week’s lessons focus on devotion, loyalty, influence, and purposeful leadership.
The Adult lesson — John the Beloved teaches believers the value of closeness to Christ, loyalty, spiritual devotion, and faithful service.
The YAYA lesson — Strategic Leadership teaches young believers how to lead with vision, wisdom, planning, communication, humility, and godly values.
Together, these lessons reveal an important spiritual truth:
👉 Effective Christian leadership begins with intimacy with Christ and is expressed through wise, purposeful influence.
When believers apply these lessons, they will:
stay close to Christ in difficult seasons
serve with loyalty and love
lead with vision and humility
influence others toward godly goals
remain useful in God’s kingdom
🧠 A devoted disciple can become a strategic leader when love for Christ is combined with wisdom, vision, and faithful service.
Adult:
John 13:23 (KJV)
“Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved.”
YAYA:
Exodus 18:21 (NKJV)
“Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.”
Adult Bible Passage: John 19:25–27
YAYA Bible Passage: Nehemiah 2:17–18

👉 Believers who stay close to Christ and lead with vision can become trusted vessels for responsibility, influence, and kingdom impact.
Adult Bible Passage:
📖 John 19:25–27 — Jesus Commits His Mother to John
This passage shows the unusual bond and trust that existed between Jesus and John the Beloved. At the point of death on the cross, Jesus handed over the responsibility of His mother’s care to John.
From the passage we learn:
Certain women stood by the cross of Jesus, including Mary His mother (v25).
Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing by (v26).
Jesus said to His mother, “Woman, behold thy son!” (v26).
Jesus said to the disciple, “Behold thy mother!” (v27).
From that hour, John took Mary into his own home (v27).
👉 This passage reveals trust, loyalty, love, and responsibility. John’s closeness to Christ positioned him to receive a sacred responsibility.
🔎 Reflection: Can Jesus trust me with sensitive kingdom responsibilities because of my loyalty and closeness to Him?
YAYA Bible Passage:
📖 Nehemiah 2:17–18 — Nehemiah Mobilises the People
This passage shows Nehemiah’s strategic leadership as he challenged the people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
From the passage we learn:
Nehemiah identified the problem: Jerusalem was in distress and reproach (v17).
He communicated the solution: “Let us build up the wall of Jerusalem” (v17).
He gave the people hope by testifying of God’s hand upon him and the king’s support (v18).
The people responded positively: “Let us rise up and build” (v18).
They strengthened their hands for the good work (v18).
👉 Strategic leadership identifies problems, communicates vision, inspires hope, and mobilises people into action.
🔎 Reflection: Am I only seeing problems, or am I helping others rise and build?
