LESSON 44 – OCCUPY TILL I COME (Part 1) / DEALING WITH DOUBT
📅5th July 2026
📖 Adult Bible Text: Luke 19:11–27
📖 YAYA Bible Text: James 1:6–8
🧠 Adult Memory Verse: Luke 15:13 (KJV)
🧠 YAYA Memory Verse: James 1:6 (NKJV)
🔹 Theme Overview
This lesson combines two powerful dimensions of the Christian life: responsibility and faith stability.
The Adult lesson (Occupy Till I Come) teaches that God has entrusted every believer with resources, gifts, and purpose (the “pound”) that must be actively used.
The YAYA lesson (Dealing with Doubt) focuses on the internal battle that can hinder that responsibility—doubt, which weakens faith and limits effectiveness.
Together, these lessons reveal an important spiritual truth:
👉A believer must both use what God has given (stewardship) and overcome doubt (faith) to fulfill destiny.
When believers apply these lessons, they will:
Understand what God has entrusted to them
Avoid wasting divine resources
Recognize and overcome doubt
Walk in faith and purposeful action
🧠 Purpose thrives where faith is stable and responsibility is embraced.
Adult:
Luke 15:13 (KJV)
“And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.”
YAYA:
James 1:6 (NKJV)
“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.”
Adult Bible Passage: Luke 19:11–27
YAYA Bible Passage: James 1:6–8

👉God expects productivity from what He gives, and faith is required to sustain that productivity.
Adult Bible Passage:
📖 Luke 19:11–27
This passage reveals that God entrusts believers with resources (“pounds”) and expects accountability and productivity before His return. It emphasizes responsibility, stewardship, and consequences for how we use what God has given.
From the passage we learn:
Jesus taught that the Kingdom would not appear immediately (v11)
A nobleman gave his servants money (“pounds”) before traveling (v13)
He commanded them to “occupy” (do business/invest) till he returns (v13)
Faithful servants traded and multiplied their resources (v16–19)
One servant kept the pound and produced nothing (v20)
The unproductive servant was judged and lost his portion (v24–26)
👉 God expects multiplication, not preservation or waste
🔎 Reflection: What am I doing with what God has entrusted to me?
YAYA Bible Passage:
📖 James 1:6–8
This passage shows that faith is essential in approaching God, and doubt destabilizes a believer’s life. A doubtful person lacks consistency and cannot effectively receive from God.
From the passage we learn:
Believers must ask God in faith without doubting (v6)
Doubt makes a person unstable like a wave (v6)
A doubtful person should not expect to receive from God (v7)
Such a person is double-minded and unstable (v8)
👉 Faith stabilizes destiny; doubt destabilizes it
🔎 Reflection: How does doubt affect my ability to act on God’s assignments?
ADULT CLASS
YAYA CLASS
The phrase "Occupy till I come" is a biblical reference in Luke 19:13 (KJV) from the "Parable of the Minas" or the "Parable of the Pounds". Other versions put this as "Do business till I come" (NKJV), "Put this money to work till I come" (NIV), "Invest this money for me while I am gone" (NLT), and "Operate with this until I return" (Message).
